(Max Factory & Orchid Seed) Ignis

Postby H-Gurl » April 15th, 2007, 3:39 pm

Looks like they both have bootleg versions now:

(both sold via gordonlamlam/lightcamp on ebay)

Item #270110171267 (NSFW) & 140107801582

Max Factory's version is a fake of the PVC, while Orchid Seed's is a low quality pre-painted resin.

The Max Factory Ignis has coloration differences (hair & skin), sculpt issues, and the box lacks the NitroPlus seal, and her glasses are missing.

the fake Max Factory ignis is pretty good, quite hard to spot that it's fake with nothing to compare

It is well done, but there's actually plenty of things that differ between the two if you look closely:

Autentic:

Fake:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t194 ... efake3.jpg

*Her hair antenna is pointing backwards in the fake
*The side hair near that, moves downward, not up like in the authentic.
*You can see bright hints of orange in her hair, and it's a totally different hue of red.
*Her skin has a yellow-ish color, and not flat pale like the original.
*The back tail areas of her dress are flat against her body.
*The small belt that's around her leg is going under her skirt and not over.
*She also doesn't look to fit on the base correctly.
*NitroPlus seal on box is missing

now that u mention them yeah, can spot them, just have to take a close look, i was comparing it with my own MF ignis, first thing i notice is the difference in the hair and the color. it's definitely well done, could have easily fool someone if they are not careful

Yes, it's obviously fooling plenty :(

...or maybe they're just desperate to get the figure now.
I'd like the figure, but not a fake one.

All the $15.00-$20.00 BIN are the bootlegs (about 7 have been sold as far as I can tell).

Both figures in question are authentic.

The first set of photos is of the PVC release, and the second is the actual original resin sculpt (or prototype).

I read the above posts... but cant really tell if mine is a fake. She looks ok. But she has orange parts on her hair... Is the hair striclty ONE color in the original?

Though the back tail areas of her dress dont really seem to be flat against her body.
The small belt that's around her leg is NOT going under her skirt and she also fits the base...

the box looks 100% ok... all the stickers on etc... But its condition was not so good. Its obvious that it was opened before. So it's considered as "second hand."
I think that somebody got an authentic box and put a fake ignis in.. :(

Her glasses are missing. That's a sign that she is fake, but I was thinkin that since the box was opened, it's easy for the glasses to be lost.

What do you think?

Thanks!!

Its a bit hard to tell as the photo is blurry, If you can take some clearer photos of her I can let you know for certain.
Try taking several shots of her (face. full body, etc)

Ok! I will do so when I get my digital camera back . I lent it to a friend.

Doesnt this orange color on her hair mean that she's fake?

The fake does have a lot of orange in the hair like in your photo, but it's odd that the stickers are present.
Please take photos of those too, as it might be a faked sticker.

The authentic has hints of orange as well:

The skin is also matte and quite pale.
