a wild mimo appears

Postby theaccidentalmimo » June 14th, 2010, 1:00 am

I joined this site because I am willing to do anything to prevent myself from buying bootlegs. I did not realize that bootlegs were as common as they are until I tried to find the Rozen Maiden Traumend soundtrack.

I'm 26 years young, and I go to conventions. (I actually saw EverAnime cds being sold at my last con, and I avoided them.) My favorite animes are Rozen Maiden, GetBackers and Sayonara Zensubou Sensei. (Saw the latter at a con.) My two favorite characters are Kuroudo Akabane and Sugintou. I cosplay both of them, and my cat's name is Akabane. Generally speaking, my tastes border on the obscure.I'm pretty recent to the anime scene, getting into it about two years ago. The hilarity of Excel Saga led me on this journey to be an otaku. By trade, I am a social worker, although currently unemployed. I volunteer at a cat rescue at least weekly. Cats are very interesting creatures, and they can fling themselves three feet in the air if they're mad enough.

My name comes from my dog. He was billed to us as a pom by the animal shelter we got him from, but I suspect that he is a type of designer dog refugee called a pomimo. (Pom/American Eskimo cross) I call him mimo (meemo) as his nickname.

You got cool dog and a cool name, Mimo :aka: . Hanging around here can help learn a few ways to avoid bootleg; there are very knowledgeable people on these forums who collect such a wide variety of items. Feel free to display your stuff :D.

I love Excel Saga, it was one of the first animes I watched (still haven't got around to reading the manga though). Also, there are quite a few of us that are recent to the scene as well. I've been collecting (mostly manga at first) for 3 years.
