My mini haul from Comiket Service

Postby H-Gurl » February 14th, 2007, 7:47 pm

I've been out of the Doujinshi buying loop for quite a long time, and finally purchased a few books I'd had my eye on.

Gomokuttu #1:

As usual with Gomoku and Mine's doujinshi, the book is printed on thick, high quality paper.
This volume contains Gomoku's illustrations for TechWin.
About 18 pages of Gomoku's cute girls are in glossy color
:D Very nice!

Angel Blade (Imagefap links NSFW):

I'd kept holding off on this one because of the high price tag (4000 yen).
Comiket has since placed a large amount of their inventory on major deep discount, so I picked this up at 1,400 yen.
This is mainly an animation refference book, that shows 40 color pages of characters profiles and transformations (which can be pretty graphic).
The book originally came with a 30 min VHS tape of the animation, but Comiket staff kindly left that out at my request, as a tape would be a huge waste of additional space, plus the animation is available on DVD domestic.
I love this book, as I'm a huge Masami Oobari fan!

Not really a book I was after, but Comiket Service has a special right now in which they add an additional free book to your order.
Generous, though it's probably a way to clean out old unwanted inventory ^_^;
Based on what they explained, this is an original story about witchcraft by the circle UNION.
The circle seems to consist of two artists; Ryo Ueda & Izumi Sakamoto. I'll probably be looking around for info on the first artist, as his sketches are very nice (favorite2.jpg).
Not a book I would have run out to buy, but it was a freebie, so I can't complain :)

So whats Doujinshi all about, is that like hentai...or just soft core?

Either way u must be a freak....dont worry, to me a freak is a good thing...its a compliment :D

So wait a minute...you used to be into Japanese pron video games...what turned you off of them?....wait, wait, what turned you on to them?

And are girls usually into that? Nvr really ran into a female who is all into this kind of freaky media...you must be Japanese I assume, although I prob shouldn't assume.

Neway just got me curious about your kind...again not in a bad way. 8)

A Doujinshi is basically a fan made or unpublished book by an artist/group of artists/or novelist.

Sometimes the work is based on an anime series, and others are completely original. Not all doujinshi are hentai, as the one I listed "Favorite" has no adult content and is an original story.
Gomokuttu isn't really what I'd call hentai either.

I guess I'm a freak among many, as tons of ladies are into Doujinshi, though it's typically yaoi (boys love) stuff.
Some of it can be more twisted than the stuff made for guys.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaoi

I've run into some girls at my local con that flipped thorough the Hentai books, but not too many.
Most were after the latest Naruto or Harry Potter yaoi doujin ^_^;

I stumbled into H-games back when I was really too young (lol) and though the art in em was cool (haha).
After a while I got sick of bothering, as I couldn't read the Japanese language ones anyways, and the games released domestic in English tend to suck (and still do).

And, nah I'm black, and as far as I know don't have any Asian in me

Oh, and us ladies aren't as innocent and pure of mind as you might think :keke:

Comiket service is great! Very personable and willing to accomodate orders, their prices are a lot nicer than what you see on eBay. Just recently, they added a circle that I asked them to look into, so it seems an order is... in order :S

I'm ok with yaoi stuff, but I don't really go wild for it like some do.
Also there is a genre called Yuri where it's girl x girl themed.

The wiki article pretty much explains all that is yaoi
Though, the girls & guys (yes, some guys like it) here can probably give you more insight on yaoi/yuri than I can:
http://animenation.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=67

IMO people that like yaoi are more into an idealized view of homosexuality.
The guys are all slender and effeminate, and it's typically very romanticized.
I've heard that most gay men think yaoi is funny, because it's so far off from reality.

I'm not sure if we as blacks, are as heavy a minority as we used to be when it comes to anime.
The internet is just so anonymous, that many just don't reveal that information.
If you attend any anime conventions, you'll see they are a really mixed bag when it comes to difference race groups.

I won't go into the other q's as we don't want to make the forums totally explicit.

Thats what I like best about their service :3!!
I've special order stuff with them, that I normally would have been doomed to the deputy services to get.
Their prices are 1000% better than ebay (hehe).

Both adult and non adult list are HUGE, so they might take some time to load ;)

Nah I didnt mean being a minority in watching anime...more along the lines of playing hentai video games or reading yaoi manga more specifically, cause it seems to me anime is pretty much mainstream now.

Thanks 4 the insight Hgurl :D

...and sry if I got to personal...

I bought Gomukucchu from Mandarake a few months ago now, and I like it.

I buy most from there, as they have some good selections, though most are hentai...I'll be doing a collection of the SFW ones later. ^^
