Jkno's collection

Postby jkno » June 30th, 2007, 3:46 pm

Ok guys, you maybe already know I collect both Star Wars and anime. When talking about anime I'm mostly interested in Masamune Shirow's stuff like Ghost in the Shell, Intron Depot, Appleseed etc. I'm also mostly interested in figures and statues than in books and manga (but have some of those as well).

I'm not sure if need to post pics for each item since you can find them in the following links:

My anime collection

All my collections including anime, Star Wars, Terminator and other stuff or if you like webshots more you can see my collections

Some of the pics in my collection in the links above were taken with an old HP digital camera but since last year I have an Canon S2 IS which helps me do a better job. I still need to make a photobox to shoot the pics closer to professional but haven't got the time, and I think I'll wait till moving to the new house next year.

The SDS TIE Fighter Pilot bust is not showing in these pics since I need to make a cabinet for it and for the eFX TIE Fighter too. There are a few more helmets coming and the next set of pics will be only when all of them have arrived and when the TIE cabinet is ready.

CD collection - there are about 1500 CD's, 99% original CD's (not bootlegs) with ambient, electronic music, ethno, world, movie soundtracks, new age music, fusion, jazz and other related genres. They are from the times I worked at radio in 1998-2004. Example of artists and musicians I like: Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Kitaro, Mike Oldfield, Enya, Sarah Brightman, Pink Floyd, Gheorghe Zamfir etc., to name just a few better known artists.

'Tis a nice collection indeed. ^^ It looks like to get the CDs you need to move the figures out of the way - doesn't that make it difficult? ^_^

It's difficult sometimes to take out a CD but I manage - BTW my CD collection goes to over 1500 original discs. Can't wait to move to the new house... :pachi2: There I'll be able to display everything somehow.

NICE!

I am in awe of your collection, mainly because I'm the same kind of Shirow nut that you seem to be. I haven't done serious figure collecting so I missed out on a lot of the SAC figures you have, and even some of the newer ones I need to pick up. Getting there, but I get distracted by other figs and my Star Wars collection. ;)

I'm still collecting Star Wars. It's hard to collect anime (mostly Shirow) and SW at the same time... :ase:

Hehe yes well, Star Wars figures have been a big thing for me for a bit now, ever since they got some decent articulation in them with the ROTS stuff.

Just to give you an idea, this is just my desk at work before I changed up my display when I got promoted.

Nice Star Wars display there. As for myself: no more action figures with the exception of Original Trilogy/Expanded Universe Imperials and droids. No Prequel Trilogy collecting for me anymore - sold all my clones and PT Jedi and stuff (excepting Action Fleet PT ships). I like PT movies, but not collecting PT.
