Carnelian is always a good circle to check out.

Has some fan books of very popular series at the moment, and the art is nice on top of that!

I'll second the visit to Carnelian's booth as long as the doujinshi is just images not a hentai manga.

Carnelian produces games and CG art. Was there supposed to be a doujinshi? If yes, I'm surprised. That would be lilith releasing a doujinshi.

They had two CG collections for sale:
http://www.toranoana.jp/mailorder/artic ... 21245.html
http://www.toranoana.jp/mailorder/artic ... 21242.html

These collections have already been released as art books. Also, based on what K2kevn says, isn't this the same collection that he bought for $20?

I'm confused.

val wrote:This artist is incredibly popular in Japan. You wouldn't know it if you simply looked at his site. He's one of the few circles to release Konami parodies, like Anabis. For some reason, Metal Gear Solid and similar games are never found in h-doujinshi. His Anabis doujinshi is worth a bit of money now in Japan.

That actually is quite a surprise, considering the online doujinshi shops that I frequent (recently only comiketservice) only have a few dabblings of his works, and some seem like they don't know of the circle in the first place.

val wrote:Unfortunately, he was sold out fast at the event. However, I know his latest book is being reprinted, and should be in stores soon. I can get it for you if you like. He still has a couple others in stores but not very many.

I would be very interested! Thanks in advance!

val wrote:Once he does reprint, this page will be active with pictures:

Toranoana normally creates a page if they're expecting something popular in the near future so they haven't already received it and sold out yet. They're waiting for a second round of prints. All of his stock sold out at the event.

Thank you for the link, and thank you very much for your efforts!

NSFW

I think the artist is popular with a different crowd than what Comiket stocks. He's not a "pro" or known name but his doujinshi are very popular with Japanese hentai doujin collectors. I've seen lots of his doujinshi go for high prices on Yahoo.

Here's the list on Tora of all his works that he's released:
http://www.toranoana.jp/cgi-bin/R2/alls ... =0&bl_fg=0

There are examples if you click through to the product pages.

Here's the circle and two artists on Yahoo:
http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/sear ... 9&auccat=0

I'm not sure if you can see everything because Yahoo has censorship. When the circle's older works get posted, it will normally go for a lot like more than 2000 a book, especially when there are lots that include more than just 3 older doujinshi. I bid on one once but I lost by more than 5,000 yen.

Also, one of the artists (Kitoen?) is pro, so perhaps that's why the stuff can go for a lot on Yahoo.

http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b77034808

This circle is probably more like Triad Tex Mex. They were popular but unknown outside of Japan for a long time. It's the same artist who makes the manga Black Lagoon. Once Black Lagoon took off, his doujinshi pricing went through the roof in Japan, but a few years, you would not have known the circle was the pro mangaka.

Here's a CD w/all 30 doujinshi:
http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/102928143
Has to be someone popular for this CD to exist. They don't bootleg every doujinshi-ka's collection, so that shows the circle is popular enough to justify a CD since the individual doujinshi are impossible or too expensive to collect.

Messe Sanno apparently just released a pretty nice looking anthology with UK Works, Mogudan, and many other popular artists.
** NOT SAFE FOR WORK ** http://www.doujinshop.com/doujin/asyoutop.htm

They sold the doujinshi on top for 200 yen at the event:
**EXTREME LOLI ART - NOT SAFE FOR WORK**

Sorry if I let anyone down w/the event. I'll make up for it next time.

I've seen UK Works listed on Toranoana in the past, and his site lists Messe Sanno and Melonbooks.
http://uk-works.moo.jp/link.html

I remember UK-Works drawing mainly big busted ladies in the past, but many artists are going this route (loli) now.

That Messe Sanno release looks awesome!

Don't worry Val! You didn't let anyone down :)
