Comiket 77

Postby Firestorm ZERO » December 18th, 2009, 4:36 am

Comiket 77 is coming up soon. Anyone have some recommendations? I see in Toranoana some doujinshi are already in the shop for pre-order (most likely won't be released till the new year).

i've been trying to pull in info on what's coming out. i'm looking for SEC, Yellow Buckets, Kei, afterschool of the 5th year (so far).

My dilemma is Crescent Shop is now closed until ~Jan.10. What does a non-Japanese speaking otaku do to get his goodies? :'(

There's always goody-japan, shopping mall japan, japan mart, treasure japan and so on... Could always just wait on crescent shop; it doesn't say Jan. 10 on the site, it says: We are reopening our site noon on Jan 2nd, 2010 (sat)JST.

And lots of C77 reports are up now:
http://www.pireze.org/blog/
http://claritism.com/blog/
http://tengaikodoku.net/blog/2009/12/09/comiket-77/

Yoshikatsu Mishima (Yellow Bluckets Website) is a monochrome illustration one this time. http://yb2.cside.com/yellowbuckets/2009/12/77-2.html
KEI's release is on Toranoana pre-orders: http://www.toranoana.jp/mailorder/artic ... 06100.html
S.E.C has a full color compilation doujin made up of previous releases. http://www.sec.or.tv/?p=397
And Kantoku is on all those reports linked above :D

i stand corrected. too many things going on with all the boxing day sales here locally.

what's your expert opinion - if i wait till ~jan 2 will i still have a shot at getting all the popular stuff at a fair price, or should i create a new goody account and add funds there?

I dunno really, I think most items aren't hard to find even a month after Comiket (unless it's a completely unknown artist, but everyone on those lists are well bought). And from my experience, the items with excessive mark-up have it from the beginning; Japanese and fans outside Japan are always willing to pay top dollar for Tony Taka, Tinkle, Huke, Miwa Shirow and such so their prices are always high even when there are a ton of copies available the day they get released. On that same note, the less in demand ones stay low to reasonable.

The only ones you have to really watch out for are the more unknown artists, because generally the people buying are real fans and don't intend to re-sell their doujins for profit.

Should be no problem if they're famous or moderately well known artists.

Only problem is if they're lesser known and 1) they sell out or 2) don't open any form of mail order system.

Then it can get a bit annoying to find books.

Good luck.

This is a slightly sad request on my part, but do any of you know if the Carnelian items are available on the Toranoa website? I'm having a hell of time finding her stuff for Comicket 77 on the website. ^_^;

Doing a search for Carnelian only comes up with this. Seems to be a collab of some sort.

Seems like the doujinshi most likely sold out in the event. So I guess the only luck is through auctions.

Thanks F Zero. I guess I get to hunt around now. Maybe I can find some other stuff as well while I'm at it.

I'm just getting started looking for C77 goodies. Can anyone help me locate (or help use the right search terms):

SEC - I know 'Colors' is the new release, but I'm a little confused by their website. Is there also a re-release as I'm also seeing S.E.C Version 0, 01, 02

Goto-P - P6+
cuteg - sweet impact: cuteg's girl's collection 1.0 and vacation (c76)
cuteg & plah - white world + strawberry pink
Yellow Buckets - vacances1 and valkaryies (c76)

edit: lost the redjuice postcard set and of course there are none listed now :'(

Thanks all

The S.E.C. release is a compilation of the other volumes mentioned, so if you have those it's probably not worth getting the new release unless you really love the cover art :D

Still haven't seen most of the other ones you mentioned on Toranoana, but then again, I haven't seen them on Yahoo Auctions either.

i found P6+ on yahoo but its selling for insane amounts of money

cuteg and yellow buckets simply never appear on yahoo .. no idea why :(
i'm also missing the redjuice postcards. see those any where? i found it once but lost the auction.

so the issues for sec 0, 1, 2 that i'm seeing on yahoo are covered in sec colors?

According to the site, that should be the content. Whether or not it's all included, I couldn't say for sure since I don't own any of them. I started too late for S.E.C. and the early stuff sells for tons.

I'd definitely noticed the insanely priced Goto P doujins, but I figured... no sane person would pay that so it's probably not worth mentioning ^^; Besides, imagine if you did pay that price, and then it shows up on Melonbooks a few days later for a fraction of the cost, that would be heartbreaking.

I'm confused about what you don't know :3 You can't order from them directly, so it's just a matter of posting a link to the page of the item you want to buy, and copy pasting the title, and writing in your quantity to the deputy service.

Page to search for Toranoana: http://www.toranoana.jp/mailorder/cot/index.html Just click the little calendar boxes, the ones in red represent days where event (in this case Comiket) items are listed in bulk. So go through those and find what you like.

On Melonbooks: http://shop.melonbooks.co.jp/shop/top/dojinbook This page shows the most recently added doujin. The searching on both sites is in Japanese, so just copy paste names of people you're looking for, or just go through all the new pages each day. It's time consuming, but it lets you be thorough and get what you want :3
