Next request for pix for the Fate Zero Tribute Arts book. I was able to get in the on the limited edition of the book, which is just the cardboard slipcover box that houses the book itself and the bonus Rough Concept of the images in the regular book. If you are into Fate, then it's a pretty book. Quality ranges wildly depending on your tastes. Personally, I don't need the goofy images. It seemed that they had a who's who of artists lined up such as Hakua Ugetsu (BIG disappointment BTW -- sheesh, his contribution is the hairy beserker looking guy - WTH?) and Yusuke Kozaki (character designer for Speed Grapher).

I was gonna pick up the Fate Zero Tribute Arts book on artistic merit alone. But I backed out in the moment.

I still don't know if I'm regretting it or not. I'm not a fan of teh Fate series but the artwork looks ballin.

I like AZ + Play [0], really nice illustrations and colors. How much did you spend to get it ?

I ended up paying the Toranoana price for AZ + Play [0] book, which was ¥940. It was another one that sold out the same day it was put up.

Another nice purchase was Shinguyan Art Works 2003-2007. It has around 100 pages, full color and B5 in size. It was one I didn't know about but added because I could see on Toranoana the page length and that it was full color XD

Sayaka's release was also great, but extremely short. It's A4 in size, 20 pages and full color.

Takeshi Okazaki's release 159. It's full color and came with a Rei as a cat girl clear file. B5 in size, and the pages aren't numbered but I think it was in the 20 ~30 range.

Carnelian's 4 doujinshi for Comiket. Now this is an artist that needs her own artbook release! Her work is just beautiful.

Tony Taka's Graph IV and his recent Clannad inspired doujinshi. Can't wait for his Shining Series artbook next month!

Really nice! I'm dying to see some pictures from the Type Moon Laboratory, Ben Itoh is definitely one of my new favorites. Would also love to see some from the Carnelian v 21 and 22. I was trying to get them for a while after C75 and I was regularly outbid in the process. It'd be nice to see what I missed out on!

* And yay for the new Tony Taka collection! I've pre-ordered it and can't wait to see it :D

Was Graph IV another Taiwan only release?

Ben Itoh's Type Moon Laboratory

Postby K2kevn » March 16th, 2009, 5:10 pm

Here's all the pages from Ben Itoh's book. It's a lot thinner than his usual release, which is probably why it's called a preview. Unfortunately, not all the images are by Ben. There were numerous guest artists. I'm sure fans of his work can pick out what he didn't do. I got this free from Comiket Service. I ordered 6 books from them and they gave the cheapest one free (this one) so I can't complain. On with the pix:

Awww, I'm a bit sad about that Type Moon Laboratory release. I'm surprised he contributed so little to it. I guess I'll wait for his next release, which will hopefully be a lot fuller. Thanks for the pictures!

CARNELIAN Benigyokuzi 22

Postby K2kevn » March 17th, 2009, 1:51 am

1 of the 4 doujinshi she put out. Here's all the color pix. The remaining half are really rough hentai sketches. She needs an art book, not the crappy one that came out years ago!

Don't really care for splitting the images in2

Here's the other. Same format. 1st half colored pictures. However the 2nd half is the sketch/pencil work for the color images a la Gururi.

Here's all the color pix:

Ah I was suspecting that was the case with Graph IV.. but it's still a shame.

Why are these books always so damn expensive? -_- It kills the bank for sure.

Wanted to give people a heads-up on some Toranoana exclusive Queens Blade doujinshi similar to the Ikkitousen released last year. Better hurry cuz they don't last long. You gotta use a deputy service so stock up on others to make it worthwhile. About 110 artists spread around the 3 books.

You can see sample pages of all three books: NSFW!

Ordering page is here: 1050 yen a book.
