Shirow 2009 Calendar

Postby K2kevn » November 13th, 2008, 9:12 pm

Picked this up a couple of week ago. They look like mostly new images. Can't complain about the quality of the pix. BUT I can complain about the formatting of the calendar. What were they thinking to have the images go past the fold of the calendar so that part of the image is on the other page with the date/calendar part. Sheesh. Sucks big time if you ever want to have the complete image scanned.

Also picked up the new Comptiq mainly for the two sided shitajiki with Type Moon's continuing milking of the FSN franchise by redoing Saber:

Lastly picked up the the newest Animage mainly for the poster of this:

The poster goes "all the way" down. :)

Ooo, I think I'll have to try getting the Comptiq and Animage magazines. I already got the Shirow calendar and was sadly a bit disappointed with it. The 2009 calendar didn't really have any new images to it, just a lot of reworked ones.

It's a decent calendar, but not nearly as good as his previous one. I'll admit I was a little disappointed by it. But it's a good one for reawakening your Shirow interests again.

His previous one being... Works or Togihime?
Yeah as Arcturus said on another thread, Shirow is definitely resting on his laurels... but then he's done that before and then come out with brand new material thats just blown us away (thinks about that time between the release of GITS MMI and Galgrease.)
