Upcoming Anime - Fall 2008

Postby Firestorm ZERO » August 26th, 2008, 3:45 am

Okay which new animes are you looking forward to?

Clannad ~after story~ and Today in Class 5-2 I will be following. Chaos Head and Tales of the Abyss maybe (will depend). And will see a few eps of the others and will decide if they are worthy to continue watching.

Fall lineup looks sweet! Uhh... I already know that this is going to interfere with school.

I'll continue watching:
Bounen no Xamdou

And definitely start:
Shikabane Hime looks awesome. Haven't read it yet but only heard good stuff from people.
Kurozuka so excited madhouse is doing this adaptation! The manga was pretty insane (and confusing at the end...) and I loved it.
I'll probably check out anything by Madhouse.
Kuroshitsuzi sounds cool
Nodame Cantabile never seen or read it. I'll give it it a shot.
Sayanara Zetsubo Sensei love the series.
Hells Angels read part of the manga, but never finished it, so guess is a good chance to figure out what the hell happened

Probably take a look at:
Tytania Artland disappointed me with Gunslinger Girl, but this one sounds pretty cool.
Tales of the Abyss Sunrise? Well, I guess they'll do a proper job on all the beam spam.

Let's see, looking over the list, the first one I'm interested in is Stitch. What can I say, Lilo and Stitch was one of my favorite movie franchises. Others that I'm interested in are Bonen no Xamdou, Casshern Sins, Kurozuka, Chaos Head, ef, and Clannad.

When they start putting Stitch on DVD, I will be importing them. I'm also going to have to import the JP box sets of the first TV series since Disney US doesn't seem interested in putting any of their TV series on DVD.

I'm still trying to catch up on old series (currently watching Code Geass), but after looking at that list I'm gonna try and check out:

- Bonen no Xamdou
- Casshern Sins
- Hell's Angels
- Shikabane Hime
- Kurogane no Linebarrel
- Tales of the Abyss

I just marathoned Nodame Cantabile. It was funny and awesome. Now I'm anxiously waiting for season 2.

I marathoned Nodame Cantabile TOO last weekend, but it's the J-Drama. :ase:

Must be the first time I fell for both J-Drama and classical musics. I even downloaded the soundtrack for both anime and drama. Love it. Next is to watch the anime. :keke:

I'll be starting the j-drama soon. I don't know what to expect for acting but fingers crossed it's just as good. Yeah, the OST is great. Love listening to all that classical music.

^ Well, all I can say about the J-Drama is as soon as I watched the first episode, I already knew it must be based on a manga or anime. It's so full of slapstick and the characters are so colorful. It'll be weird for you as some of the characters looked different from the anime. Mine's got this funky hair and Stressman looks pretty crazy unlike it's counterpart. You'll learn to love it, I'm sure. GYABOOO!!!

p.s. Watch the 2 special episodes where they went to Paris. I suppose those would be the 2nd season for the anime. There's this bit where Chiaki flips Nodame head over heels sideways. Ouch!

Really looking forward to Linebarrels of Iron, the mecha design appeals to me.

Hell's Angels is a short high school manga about a girl who dies (hit by a truck!), goes to hell and still has to resume school there. Being the only one who isn't a witch/demon/whatever, she has a hard time fitting in all the wild classes and activities. The storyline is generic and cheesy but I still liked it as it was dark, weird and a chaotic.

If you are an action guy, Kurozuka will hopefully be good. Should be lots of crazy action and nudity; the manga had a few "holy sh*t!" moments. It starts as a samurai-like story, then it takes a huge time leap and becomes sci-fi/post-apocalypse with psychics and sword fights. I was disappointed with the ending, but it was still a really good read. So I'm happy that Madhouse has taken that project.

Those are the only two that I know anything about.
